In the 6tar's newest United Artists' vehicle, "My Best Girl," which trill be presented at the Grand Theatre next Monday, Miss Pickford adheres to her convictions. Playing the role of a hard-working stock girl, in the basement of a large 5-and--10 cent store, who falU in lovo with the son of the wealthy owner of the establishment, "America's Sweetheart" employs the universal Ginderella theme as a background for this new comedy-romance. "My Best Girl" contains tho essentials of a perfect narrative, including such indispensable ingredients as contrast, human appeal, and sym&pthy. And above all this kind of story personifies the universal human ambition to jiso above one's environment. In the struggles and dreams of the heroine, every girl sees her own struggles and dreams vivified. So long as screen entertainment is made for the public, this type of picture will enjoy popularity.
