PROPRIETOR FINED £IOO. (PREiB ASSOCIATION TEIT.GDAM.) AUCKLAND, December 29. Robert Ryan, aged lifty-sight, was fined £IOO to-day for keeping a,common gaming-house in Queen street premises. Tho polite said that Ryan had done well iu an extensive bookmaking business over the Christmas holidays. .Hte had been fined tho maximum amount on a similar charge in December, 1925. Asked why ho should not bo imprisoned, Ryan said he had a wife and eight children to support.
