LESSONS BY RADIO.
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT PROJECT. [THE PBESS Special Service.] AVELLINGTON, November 28. An experiment which will probably result in important developments if it proves successful is to be conducted by the Education Department nest month, in order to test tho efficacy of wireless tor tho purpose of giving instructions to schoolchildren. The Department has arranged tuat on December 13th between 2 p.m. and 3 »m. an educational programme sha 1 bo broadcast from Station 21A (Wellington). The inspectors will forward to tho Department official reports, and it is expected that the Department will soon be in a position to say whether it is possible to give instruction to sclioolchildren in a satisfactory manner by means of wireless. It has been arranged that schools in all parts of the Dominion from Whangarei to Invercargill shall "listenin" to the lessons. The programme will be as follows: Children's choir, conducted by the supervisor of music in schools, Mr EDouglas Tavler; short talk to pupils by the Director of Education, Mr T. B. Strong; short talk on school games br the chief physical instructor, Mr ft. E. Longworth; literature lesson by the Chief Inspector of Schools, Mr W. Bird ; .interpretation of gramophone record or some instruction in melodyforming, using the piano or violin, by Mr E. Douglas Tayler.
