PIGEON FLYING.
j ■ The Christcliiirch Homing Pigeon Society flew their second Seaclif? race recently. Sixty-flve birds, divided among 16 owners, were liberated by the stgtiqpmaster in favourable weather, but they did not record fast velocities. The winning bird was Airman, the property of J. L. Hewlands. It flew the distance of 185 miles air-Ilne in 6 hours 51 minutes. The results were: — Yds. per min. J. L. Hewland's Airman .. 795 H. N. May's St. Martin's Lass .. 795 L.
