THIEVES SET FIRE TO STORE.

TIMELY APPEARANCE OF BRIGADE. (rRISS ASSOCIATION TBLIGBAM.) ASHBURTON, November 11. A burglary was committed at Metbven early this morning, "\V. C. "attsou's drapery and soft goods emporiium being entered and a quantity of stock removed. The thieves evidently gained admission by the front door, as it was found open this morning. The marauders set fire to some material, but before the blaze attained to any dimensions it was discovered by the Fire Brigade, which was returning from another fire at the residence of Mr James "Robinson, which was severely damaged.
