MAGISTERIAL. WEDNESDAY. (Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.) THREE MONTHS' GAOL. Margaret Livingstone appeared for sentence on a charge of having commuted a grossly indecent act in a public place, ana to answer a further charge of drunkenness. Senior-Sergeant J. Fitipatrick said the woman had been convicted and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, conditionally upon her staying in the Salvation Army Home. She ran away from the home, and was arrested later, drunk. She was sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labour. ASSAULT CHARGE. Bert Avery was charged with unlawfully obstructing a police constable in the execution of his duty, and further with assaulting a constable. He pleaded not guilty to each charge, ana was remanded to appear this morning. A YOUNG OFFENDER. Charged with drunkenness, a boy, looking litlte over 10 years of age, answered sharply when his name was called. He pleaded guilty, and Senior-Sergeant FiUpatrick said the ease was a most unusual one. The boy alleged he had been given a bottle of beer at the races, and drank it, with the result that he was arrested. Tha Magistrate; Did you know what it wast Accused: "Yas, air!" The Magistrate: "Are you going to drink any more of itt" Accused: "No, Sir. Can I have my name suppressed! I've been disgraced enough, and it wouldn't da my relation! any good!" The Magistrate:.
