FIGURES FOR OCTOBER. The following are the figures for the building permits issued by the City Council in October, the figures for the corresponding month of 1926 being given for purposes of comparison:— 1927. 1926. £ £ Central — Inner area .. 25,727 5,095 Outer area .. 2,100 6,035 St. Albans .. 19,854 38,471 Sydenham .. 11,251 7,709 Linwood .. 6,490 ' 12,077 Snreydon .. 5,855 11,206 Woolston .. 2,335 8,033 Totals .. 73,612 88,626 New buildings for which permits were issued were 58 dwellings, totalling •£43,450 in value, and eight other buildings, aggregating £23,100. Subdivisions of Land. The following subdivisions of land were approved by the City Council on Monday evening:— Estate late James McHara, corner McKenzie avenue and Keswick street, Woolston. Lot 22, Plan A.L. 48, part R.S. 37. Subject to the dedication of Lot 10 for road purposes. W. M. Ollivier, St. Martins Part Lot 13, D.P. 6937. W. Barlass, St Martins. Lots 14 and 15. D.P. 6937.
Illingworth and Bond, Worcester street. Lot 56, D.P. 1532. J. Taylor, corner Opawa road and York street, Opawa. Subject to dedication of Lot 7 for road purposes. J. H. Gibbs, York street, Opawa. Lot 18 and part Lot 17, D.P. 37. Subject to dedication of Lot 3 for road purposes. East Belt Methodist Church' (65860). Pt. T.R. 88, Fitzgerald avenue and Worcester street.
