INFLUENZA.

TO THB VDITOB OT TH» PBBgg, Sir, —This ever-increasing disease is with us again, and I want the public to understand what is the cause of it. At present there are thousands more men and youths in the city, all smoking these fierce cigarettes, the fumes of which ascend to the air, and we are obliged to breathe it in, and it sets up inflammation of the mucous membranes of the nose and causes catarrh, which is only another name for influenza. Would the gentlemen of this City eease smoking in the trams and buses, and where people are congregated? They would then be doing a good turn and prevent the spread of influenza.—Yours, etc., MARGARET.
