DR. M'EACHERN'S REPORT
DEPARTMENT TO CALL A CONFERENCE.
[THE PBESS Special Service.]
WELLINGTON, November 7.
At en early date the Health Department is expected to call a conference to consider the report of Dr. McEachern on the New Zealand Hospital system.
The New Zealand Hospital Boards' Association is now moving to get the conference summoned as soon as possible. It will be remembered that the Government took the opportunity of Dr. McEachern's visit to Australia last year to invite him to come to the Dominion and furnish a report on the methods of hospital administration and service. The principal conclusions of Dr. McEachern were embodied in an interim report, which was furnished to the Government before he left' New Zealand. The full report came to hand only recently.
At the conference, the date of which, it is hoped will be available very soon, will be representatives of the Hospital Boards, the Health and the British Medical Association. The policy of the B.M.A. has been endorsed by the report. Important matters of hospital control will be discussed at the conference and important results are expected to flow from it.
