RIFLE SHOOTING.
SOUTH ISLAND ASSOCIATION. There was a large attendance of riflemen at the annual meeting of the South Island Rifle Association held at the Y.M.G.A. rooms. Major J. P. Oakes was elected to the chair, and congratulated the local riflemen on getting the championship meeting for Christchurch this season. It was decided to hold the South Island championship at Redcliffs on January 2nd and 3rd. The programme was left in the hands of the new executive to draw up. It was decided to ask all Rifle Clubß in the South Island to at a fee of 10s per year, no membership fee to be charged to any competitor provided bis club is affiliated.
