A message from Indianapolis states that sixteen persons wero killed when an inter-urban car crashed into an automobile trailer filled,, with men and women on the way to a dance. THE WARATAHS. I (Received October 16th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 15, 'The Waratahs beat the South of Scotland by 36 points to nil. LOCAL TEAM OVERWHELMED. (Received October ICth, ILS p.m.) LONDON, October 15. On the fast, dry ground the Waratahs, under real homo conditions, gave one of their best displays. They had a real Border Welcome and over 10,000 spectators wero present. . The Waratahs started right off As if bound to win. In a few minutes Tancred was over the line, Lawton converting. Ford got a try after a brilliant bit of work, but no goal resulted. The Waratahs nearly always secured from tho scrums, but were oftctt penalised. E. Ford scored again in thtt first spell, the try being unconverted. The second spell provided the best incident of the game, E. Ford crosskicking, Greatorex running through from mid-field, and Lawton converting. Further scores were obtained by Greatorex, E. Ford, Mann, and Sheohan. The visitors overwhelmed the Borderers, and Lawton converted every try. Greatorex was outstanding, aiid Ford's Bpccd delighted the crowd.
