ARRESTS IN LATVIA. MILITARY INFORMATIONSOUGHT. (EX CADLE-rEESS ASSOCIATIOK-fOrYRIUIIT ) ("THE TIMES.") LONDON. October 14. The Riga correspondent of "The Times" says thnt the Latvian police arrested twenty-three soldiers and railwaymen, several possessing incriminating materials in connexion with a widespread organisation which the Cheka established in order to secure military information for the Soviet. M. Yoroshiloff, Soviet Commissar for War, announces that alreadv there are seventy-two women officers* in tne Red Army. Eight have passed a staff examination. Nineteen participated in the Pan-Soviet shooting contests, showing great skill with revolvers.
