RIFLE SHOOTING.

KAIAPOI DEFENCE CLUB. TheKaiapoi Defence Kifle Club fired its first handicap cup competition, on Saturday afternoon, the conditions being 10 shots at 200 -yards and 11 ehota at 300 yards. The (following vrevo the highest scores:—

CHRISTCHURCH DEFENCE CLUB. The Christchurch Defence* Eifle Club fired their first ehort range competition at Rtdcliffa on Saturday The conditions were fairly good with a tricky southwest wind blowing down the range. Rifleman J. Chapman was the winner with 93, his score of 48 at the concluding range being a particularly fine effort. The scores were as follow. —
