Ai an early date work will be commenced on the cross-drive between the two tunnels near the intake at Lake Coleridge. By this means a good supply of water will be ensured from the old tunnel by means of the new intake oat some distance in the lake. During the time that the drive is being made the full load will be taken by the new generating sets, and the break through from one tunnel to the other will be done on a Sunday. About a week will be occupied in the work. The" new classification list, which has been awaited by Civil servants in Curistchurch for the past five weeks, has arrived, and objections are being prepared by those considering that they rave been dealt with unfairly. Railway officers are expecting the issue any day, of the new classification list, whj'ch will bring about a reorganisation ios tins Department's staff.
