' -In the twenc holes played in the afternoon he went round to 40 (bogey 52). Millard's play was very atchy and he at no stage of the game, after the first six holes looked like being a winner. The first hole was halved \u o, the second in 4, Millard won the third in 4 the fourth was halved in 4 Robinson'won Westward Ho in 6, but lost Scales Knob. Robinson then secured our successive wins at The .Manukas Live Tree Sou'-West, and Gorso Hill. The Marsh was halved. Robinson won the Dunes. Hope was halved, and so were the Firs and tlio Spire. Robinson won The Hollow and The Mound, but lost Tho Terrace through bad putting. The morning round put Robinson 5 UP in the afternoon Robinson sprang some beautiful golf, winning the first three holes in 4 4 and 3. Ho lost The Gap through Millard laying a stymie, but won Westward II" and Scales Knob Millard won the Manukas, and then Live Tree, bou West, and Gorse Hill were successively halvod. Millard won tho Marsh in 4 to .Robinson s o (bogey 6), but tho end came at-Tho Dunes where Robinson got a 2 and secured the championship by 8 up and 6 to play. In the final of the Harding Cup competition played at Avondale during the week-end J. L. Applegarth (14) beat P. S. Hills (11) 1 up at the 18th green.
RICHMOND HILL.CLUB. There was a good entry for the bogey match played on Saturday. A strong nor'-wester made playing conditions difficult, consequently the scores were not* as good as usual. The following wero the results: — F. H. Thompson (13) all square, T. Merry (12) 1 down, F. J. Glackin (11). 2 down, J. D. Lawrence, sen. (8), 3 down, E. A. Sead-Gowing (15) 3 down, D. C. Cowan (5) 4 down, J. D. Lawrence, jun. (5), 4 down. Owing to bad weather conditions it was found impossible to play the finals of the senior and junior championships. These will in all probability be played off next week-end.
KAIAPOI CLUB. At the Kaiapoi links on Saturday the 6rial of tho mixed foursome championship for the Leithead Cup was played when Miss M. Stark and H.'"Wilson bent Miss Kinaldi and S. Kinaldi by 4 up and 3 to play.
RANGIORA CLUB. A bogey handicap for seniors and juniors was played on the Rangiora links on Saturday. The best scores were:— Seniors—E. 0. Heney 1 up, S. H. Smedley 3 down, and J. R. Deal 4 down. Juniors —W. 0. Keetley 4. down, L. W. Menzies 4 down, and T. H. Blain 5 down. A trophy for unearned handicap players was won by E. D. R. Smith, 119. The ladies played a bogoy handicap for a trophy given by the club captain, Mr H. K. Kippenberger. The best cards handed in were: Miss A. Walker (23). 2 up, Mrs H. Heney (19) 1 down, Miss Garrett (21) 1 down, Miss Petrie (33) 2 down.
HAGLEY LADIES' CLUB. The L.G.U. Medal Match (Silver Medal Division) resulted in a win for Mrs 0. Bonnington. The greens were in a very bad state, and caused strokes to be added too frequently. NAPIER WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGBASI.) NAPIER, September 24. The filial of the Napier women's golf championship was played to-day in perfect conditipns, and resulted in a victory for Jliss Upham (Miramar),-who defeated Miss Watson (Palraerston North), 3 up and 1 to play.
