DAFFODIL EXHIBITION.

The second exhibition of daffodils, arranged by the Daffodil Committee of the Canterbury -Horticultural Society, was Held in the St. John Ambulance Room last evening and was well attended. A large number of seedling daffodils grown by Sir B, ,Heaton Rhodes; Messrs W. Balcb, and J. US. Holmes were shown for awards, and the prize for the best seedluig exhibited was won by Mr W. Balch with a very fine bloom. After the judging was completed a very interesting lecture on "How to Choose a Show Bloom" was delivered by Mr W. Balch. The lecturer dealt very fully with all the points which go to make; a perfect show bloom and also with the. classification, of the different sections of daffodils. After a few questions had been answered, Mr .0. W. B. Anderson pro r posed a vote of thanks to Mr Balch. The motion was carried by acclamation.
