■• * The monthly meeting of the Kiccarton branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union was held on Thursday afternoon. Mrs 0. Barrell presided over a small attendance. The delegates' report of the District Convention at Ashburton was read by Mrs McLean. Miss McLay, Dominion Organiser for Young People, addressed the meeting, and emphasised the great necessity of having a Tonne People's branch in connexion with the adult union. It was decided to hold a meeting at the residence of Mrs Swanston. Blenheim road, at an early date, to discuss matters m connexion with the formation of a \ ' Union in Kiccarton.
