LAWN TENNIS.

SPREYDON CLUt The sixth annual meeting of the Spreydon Tennis Club was held in the Coronation Hall. The president, Mr W. Fenner, presided over a fairly large gathering of members. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The president, in his address, congratulated the club on its splendid credit balance. The following officers were elected for the coming year:—Patron, the Hon. Sir E. Heaton .Rhodes, M.L.C.; president, Mr W. Fenner; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Voss, A. D. Moore, G. Witty, E. Howard, S. Templeton, G. Wear, W. Golding, and Mesdames Bloor, Andrew, Elms, and Bradford; hon, secretary, Mr K. T. Cowper; hon. treasurer, Mr E. Merrett; hon. auditor, Mr G. Wear; club captain, Mr H. Merrett; vice-captain, Mr P. Kelly; Management Committee, Messrs Moore, Bowes, Howard, aud Cox, and Mesdaines Bloor, Williamson, and D. Petrie; delegates to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs A. R. Merrett and P. Kelly; delegate to Sports Protection Association, Mr A. 'R. Merrett; Ladies' Social Committee, Mesdames Moore, Nolan, Dickie, Misses Dunkley, Searing, A. Bowes, V. Bowes, and M. Graham; Match and Selection Committee, Miss V. Bloor, Messrs P. Kelly and H. Merrett. It was decided to liold the opening day on Saturday, October 15th, at 2.30 p.m. BELFAST CLUB. The annual meeting of the tennis section of the Belfast Sports Club was held on Thursday. Mr Croll, club captain, presided over a good attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet showed a -successful year's work. It was decided to play Kaiapoi on Labour Day. October Sth was fixed as the date of opening the courts. • It was decided to write to Mr Sidey thanking him for his efforts for the good of Xcw Zealand in general, in at last being successful in putting the Summer Time Bill through the Parliament of New Zealand. The -election of officers resulted: CluTj captain, Mr C. W, Cr,oll; secretary, Mr W. G. Brown ; committee, Mesdames Martin Smith and S. Watson, Miss D. Goode, Messrs Bringans, A. Clarke, C. Croll, P. Miller, J. Halligan, A. B. Ij. Smith; delegate to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Mr G. Brown; delegate to Sports Club Executive, Mr A. Clarke.
