The L 0 British machines flew all morning at high speeds, pleasing the experts. The British airmen'deny reports that their machine readied speeds of 325 miles an hour, and say they are guesswork None of the trials has been over a measured mile The Italian pilots continue to complain that their engine is not working at the expected speed. Sunday's race will be a very severe test. The machines must make seven circuits of a thirty mile triangular course. SIR PHILIP SASSOON. FLIGHT TO VENICE, (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIBEI/ESS.) RUGBY, September 21. Sir Philip Sassoon, Under-Secretary of State for Air, left Lympne early today for Venice to witness the Schneider Cqp race. After a flight lasting three-quarters of an hour, however, the machine retorted to Lympne, bad weather preventing the pilot from getting across to the French coast. Conditions were so tad that the machine almost collided with cliffs on one attempt to cross the coast-line. On hearing later that conditions had improved, Sir Philip Sassoon set off again, and hopes to reach Venice this evening.
