It is estimated that tho 6ugar cane crop in -Queensland tliis year will be 3,500,000 tons, yielding 460,000 tons of sugar. - New South .. The English Hereford Herd Book Society has decided to present another challenge cup to the New Zealand Royal Society for com.petition in the Dominion. ■ The valuable services of Mr H. J. who for 20: years was honorary treasurer of the Association, are to be .placed on record Mr E. E. Short, of Feildintr, was appointed treasurer, and Mr W. B. White (Takapau) was-elected to the vacancy on the Council.
