ANOTHER LIBEL ACTION.
MR MINAHAN'S CHARGES. (BY CABLE—rRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received September 21st, 10.5 p-m-) SYDNEY, September 21. Mr Lysaght, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, has issued two writs, each claiming £IO,OOO damages, against the "Sun" newspaper and Mr Minahan, Independent candidate tor Auburn, who is opposing Mr Lang, for alleged libel.
[Mr P. J. Minahan, the Independent Labour candidate, who is opposing Mr Lang at Auburn, in the course 01 an. election address, made grave charges of corruption against certain unnamed members of the Parliamentary Labour Party. He said that the corruption occurred when the Liquor Amendment Bill was before the State Assembly, and that on that occasion £30,000 was distributed, some to the Legislative Council., and some to tliQ caucus. Mr Willis, Vice-President of the Legislative Council, has also taken out a writ against Mr Minahan in con-, nexion with his speech.]
