Refreshing and welcomo are the stories of romance, oil South; Sea Islands, and, with their different themes, rarely-fail to prove the star, attraction to any theatre'. Heading the bill at the Liberty Theatre this week' is. H. De Vere Stacpoole's "The Blue Lagoon,' and tho picture gives ' a faithful, if colourful, interpretation ,of the novel. < For his purpose, Staepoole places two cousins, born of good families, on a desert island at an age when they. are playmates together. Tltey stow up in close communion with Nature, the boy to wax strong, edge his primitive spearj and go forth to the woods and the sea to seek sustenance; the girl to stay at. home and Jook after tho hut. Perchance their; guardian from, the outside world finds their' abode, But no, be will not intrude.; "It is' their kingdom," and he'leaves them there.*. Such is the main trend of the picture.
