UNEMPLOYMENT.
Work was offering yesterday on the .Lyttelton -waterfront and at the railway goods sheds, and this probably had a ilight effect on the number of registrations of men out of work. Tho total registrations yesterday wer.e 16, of whom nine were married men. Four • men are to leave to-day for forestry work at Hanmer Springs, and two men were placed in private employment.
