DRAINAGE BOARD SUPPORTS ' PETITION. The Drainage Board, at its meeting last night, unanimously decided :';at jthe chairman (Mr H. J. Otley) should sign the petition to the Minister for Public Works, and the Minister for Marine, asking them to recommend his Excellency tho Governor-General to recall Jiis warrant authorising the construction of a ferro-concrete bridge with 4ft clearance over the Avon at Seaview road, New Brighton.

Regarding the proposal of the City Engineer (Mr A. E. Galbraith) that the present bridge should be widened (in timber) by 17-Jft, at an estimated cost of £2400, the chairman said that at tho present juncture this was an excellent proposal to keep down expenditure.
