AMERICAN LEGION.
MARCH THROUGH ARC DE TRIOMPHE. (BY CABLE—MIESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIA?? A>D K.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) PARIS, September 19. . The march of the American Legionaries under the Arc de Triomphc was a stirring spectacle. As they passed the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior, the Legionaries dropped flowers until a great mound of blossoms was pilod on the sacred spot. The" column took three' hours to pass. Tho constant dipping of banners formed a touching tribute to the fallen. General Pershing and Marshal Foch had a great reception. The entertainment of the Legionaries was in lighter vein. There was dancing in the principal squares and numerous dinners and supper parties, including a banquet at the Hotel des Invalides, where there -were 4200 guests.
The first intimation the coolc received was a laconic "Mayonnaise for 4200 forthwith." One hundred chefs were engaged, and 66 gallons of oil, 2400 eggs and 28 gallons of vinegar were ordered, to which were added one ton of beef, twelve hundredweight of salmon, and so on. The mayonnaise was prepared in cauldrons operated by electric motors. SACCO AND VANZETTI AGAIN. (Sydney "Sun" Service.) (Received September 20th, 7.30 p.m.) PARISj, September 19. The only unfriendly incident in connexion with the visit of the American Legionaries occurred, at the opening ceremony at the Trocadero. As the cheering for M. Doumergue* subsided a stranger shouted, "Vivent | Sacco et Vanzetti." When arrested he proved to be Le Coin, secretary of the Sacco-Vanzetti Committee, who had eluded the police by shaving off his moustache. ,
