THEATRE ROYAL.

"THE GHOST TRAIN." At the. Theatre Royal 011 Tuesday next «T. C. "Williamson (N.Z.), Ltd., by special arrangement with Mr E. J. Carroll, will present the world-famous comedy-drama, "The Ghost Train." This unique play electrified London, and its success in Australia was instantaneous. It comes to New Zealand after one of the most satisfactory tours ever recorded by either comedy or drama. It is described as masterly in its construction, and the Hiithor (Mr Arnold Ridley) has received world-wide congratulations on having; produced what many claim to be the best comedy-drama 6t\ the century. There are many sensational incidents and thrilling scenes, .and these are cleverly interspersed with humorous interludes. In the comedy work two noted London stage personalities, Miss Laura Smith6on and Mr Basil Radford, are prominent. Miss Smithson plays the part of Miss Bourne (a voluble elderly spinster with a parrot), while Mr Radford appears as Teddie Deakin, a cackling idiot full of inanities. Miss Betty Ross-Clark, a London actress of distinction, plays feminine lead, and her characterisation is one of the features of the production. Mr Hugh Wright, who is responsible for the production of "The Ghost Train," plays the part of Saul Hodgkin (stationmaster at Fal Yale, a desolate branch line). There are _ many other noted performers in the cast, including Miss Joan Bailey, Messrs Leslie Gordon. Roger Barry, Mayno Lvnton, Edgar Warwick, Reginald Roberts, and Robert Steele.
