MONTHLY MEETING.

I The Prainago Board, met last night. Present: Messrs H. J. Otley (chairman), S. C. Bingham, J. Vv. Beanland, H. G. Livingstone, Athur Smith, E. 11. S. Hamilton, Charles Hill, S. 0. McCully, W. C. Ijarge, W. tt. Carey, and TV. J. Walter. For the reticulation of Area No. CD, Papaliui, the tender of Boyle Bros., Ltd., lor £I9',GG4 8s 6d, was accepted. The contract time for completion is Hay 14t!i, 1928. The following tenders were accepted tor sinking wells to supply water to flushing tanks: —J. Osbomo and Co., five wolls, -in, at £lO 10s, £52 10s; Eade Bros., four wolls, 2in, at .€lO 10s, £42; W. H. Aldin, 19 wells, IJin, at £7 ss, £137 15s. The Works Committee reported that provision of an outlet for sewerage for » subdivision proposed by Messrs Rudkin and I.ee would necessitate the construction of chains of sewer on Riccarton road, at an estimated cost of £1350; but that no definite answer could be given tHI the Board s BUI was through Parliament. In reply to Mr i. J. Turner's request, it was recommended tnnt the sewer in River road be extended to about 33ft from the boundary of the property to enable him to connect. Mr P. AV. Sharpe is to bo informed that the Board could not legally spend money in repairing a bridge giving access to his property on Dudley creek, but could carry out - the repairs at Mr Snarpo s expense. The report was adopted. The secretary and treasurers report set out that the balance of the £700,000 loan available for further works, lftss the sum necessßry to provide pipes for contracts let, was £37,367. It was decided to submit to the Town - lannine Committee of thejX'ity Council the plans of future pumping stations. Mr Livingstone remarked that the designs of the Board s pumping stations were much better than those of the Municipal Electricity Department. The engineer was. empowered to call for applications for an inspector at a salary of £275.
