GUN CLUBS.
+ METHVEN. A fine afternoon's sport was enjoyed, at' the weekly shoot of tho Methven. Gun Club held on tho Methven racecourse on Saturday. There was a rather smaller attendance* o£ members than usual, but the standard of shooting was much abovo that of $ wsek ago. This is probably accounted for by the much better conditions prevailing, although at tho beginning o£ the shoot the bright sunshino proved somewhat troublesome. Later the light improved, while a plight breeze made no apparent difference to the competitors. Four matches were fired and completed in good time, the results being as follows: — Nine-birds (clays) handicap, for a trophy presented by Mesßrs T. B.orthwick and Sons,' with an added sweepstake.
