HORSE BOLTS.
RIDER BADLY INJURED. Through his horse bolting and falling on the asphalt road in Colombo street/ Thomas Alfred Wood, married, admitted to the Public Hospital shortly before 5 o'clock on Saturday afternoon from concussion arid severe abrasioiis to the head and face.
Wood was riding his horse, newly brokferi, down Colombo street, gbing south; and just as lie reached the Square, the animal bolted and galloped down Colombo street until it reached the Britannia Cafe, just above Moorhouse avenue. Here the horse slipped on the. smooth road, and, alter sliding for nearly thirty yards, fell heavily. Wood was thrown clear, but the force of the fall, combined with the .speed he was goihg when thrown, hurled him through the air for 'some yards. The injured man was takeii immediately to the Hospital, Where he now lies in a serious condition.
