Boyd made a statement admitting the offences and stating that Willetts was with him. When that statement was read over to Willetts he said that he intended to reserve his defence. He would not say anything about the statement. Witness questioned Willetts as to' how the goods came to ;be found at 210' Salisbury street, where ho had been living, and he replied that he knew that they were stolen, that he had put them there, and that they had been given to him by Boyd. To Mr Batchelor: Boyd, was quite candid from the start, and had giventhe detectives assistance. Detective L. Studholme gave corroborative evidence. Witness produced, statements made by each, stating that they had been accompanied by one lies Wright, in the escapades. Wright had not been traced yet. Boyd pleaded guilty to all the charges except' that of attempting to break and enter McClatchy's shop, and it was formally dismissed. Willetts pleaded guilty to all charges except those relating to H. J. Otley and Son, and the City Cash Meat Co., reserving Ms defence, on those. Both were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence on the joint charges and Willetts was committed for trial on the tyvo to which he had pleaded not guilty. . • Boyd was allowed bail a3 befoie, but Willetts was refused bail
