COMPREHENSIVE.

A MAGAZINE FOR ALL.

"WEEKLY PRESS" PLEASES EYE AND MIND.

The Rugby match on Saturday between the Canterbury representatives, holders of the Eanfurly Shield, and Wellington, seems to haVo been as fast and dashing an affair as the Timaru< Christchurch bicycle race. Both events are fully illustrated'in this week's issue of the "Weekly Press," which will be on sale everywhere to-morrow. Incidents of the road race are portrayed alongside photographs of the road champion and other successful competitors, while the football pictures are full of snap. Other important outdoor fixtures of the week were the New Zealand golf championships at Hamilton and the winter sports of the Euapehu Ski Club at Tongariro National Park, and these also are well described in pictures, the snapshots of the Euapehu enthusiasts being particularly pleasing. Among the many other subjects exploited by the camera this week is the Carnival Week held at Gore. Many fine gala scenes were photographed successfully, and the elaborate displays and decorations have made attractive pictures. A camera visit to the charming South Canterbury town of Waimato has produced a series of interesting views, and Oamaru is another southern centre figuring i'.: the illustrations. A notable feature of the farming sec: tion this week is an article concerning the fine "Palmdale" dairy herd belonging to Mr Donald Kennedy, of Morven. Pictures of the cattle are reproduced, and dairy farmers will be especially interested in the illustrations Bhowing the new style of cowbails adopted by Mr Kennedy. Throughout the family magazine there is reading for all—serial and short stories for the grown-ups, two serials for the children, up-to-date information for women on personal care and home management, accounts of prominent people, and so on. A new crossword puzzle makeß its appearance, money priies being offered for correct solutions. The "Weekly Press" is a sixpenny magazine, the most comprehensive publication for the money to ho found in the Dominion.
