ATLANTIC FLIGHT.

A message from Toronto states that the Hon. Mr Finlayson, Minister for Forests in Ontario, announced tonight that the Government had refused permission for Captains Maxwell and Tully, employed in aeroplane patrol work, to attempt a .flight to London in the August and September season, as the fire menace was then at its height. COURTNEY'S ATTEMPT. (BRITISH OFFICIAL WIBELESS.) LONDON, July 26. Captain Courtney, who hopes to fly to America and back, made _ trial flights to-day, and tested the wireless apparatus. He found that the vibration in the reoeiving set had been successfully overcome, and said there was now no cause for delay* except the weather. [Captain Courtney proposes to fly from Ireland across the North Atlantic to New York. If successful he will attempt the return trip.]
