OPAWA SCHOOL.

The monthly meetjng of the Opawa School Committee was held recently. Those present were Messrs T. "W. West (chairman), IS. Maguiness, W. Brittenden, W. A. McDowell, J. H. Coleman, J. Pycroft, G. Robinson, and W. P. Ingley (secretary). The resignation of Miss Kininmonth as infant mistress, who is to take up a similar position at Sydenham school, was received with regret. The chairman reported that a gift of land had been promised* giving access to the proposed footbridge over the Heathcote river at the end of Butler's road. It was resolved to support the matter of securing a footbridge at this point and to make representation to the various Councils concerned.
