(puts AssocUTioar nuosiu.) PALMEBSTON N., July 25. The Fira Brigade -was called to Boundary road east early this morning, where an outbreak of fire had developed in a house occupied by Mr Miller. There are no water mains in the locality, and an attempt to link up with the main in an adjacent street failed until a further hose was secured from the fire station. In the meantime an adjoining house owned by Mr Hastlelow caught alight, and was badly gutted before the .flames were extinguished. The' first house was practically destroyed. An effort to pump water from a well failed owing to the Are engine breaking through the crust of day and becoming bogged, the firemen having a I strenuous task to extricate the engine after the flames were subdued.
