MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
The Management Committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association met last evening. Present—Messrs It. L. Smith (chairman), V. Hahn, A. Graham, B. Cummings, J. Pascoe, L. Cummings, L. Ward, W. Grammer, J. H. Williamson, and H. R. Sampson,
■ The New Zealand Association wrote accepting the challenge for the Zanol Cup, and forwarding a copy of the draw for the shield tournament. Tie Otago Association accepted the proposed date, September 3rd, for the Hatch Cup and junior representative matohes. The Otago Association also reported that Technical Old Boys being the premier senior team of Dunedin this season, would be visiting Christchurch on September 3rd to play the premier team there for the Payton trophy. The 'Varsity Clubs' explanation tor the playing of unregistered players was accepted. The Auckland Association accepted August 6th "as a suitable date for the junior cup Several complaints were forwarded from teams' captains regarding; the unsuitable balls provided by the opposing captains. It was decided to draw attention to the rule which provides for each team to supply one white-painted ball for each match. The explanations of the St. Albans and Technical Old Boys* Clubs regarding the playing of unregistered players was accepted.
