PECULIAR SITUATION IN N.S.W. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPTRIGHT) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received July 20th, 8.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 20. The Industrial Commissioner (Mr A. B. Piddington) unexpectedly countered the submission that the living wage declaration was. invalid by redeclaring his declaration of June 27th and fixing, the basic wage at £4 5s a week. It is anticipated that the employers will now move in the Full Court ior an injunction restraining the Commission from proceeding further with the declaration, and that Parliament may have to be called to pass amending legislation. RURAL WORKERS. (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z.. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received July 20th, 9.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, July 20. The Industrial Commission has declared a temporary living wage of £4 4s a week for adult male employees in rural industries on the basis of a man and wife.

That the success of many functions depends on the catering has been amply demonstrated by the very large number of satisfied customers who have used "Cooke's" service. Messrs W R.
