FAMOUS POLISH PIANIST
When emperors and tongs were more in fashion in Europe are to-day,-no artist was more in request fqr palace recitals thßn Ignas Friedman, the illustrious Polish pianist, who comes to New Zealand under the direction of B. J. Carroll, and who will give two. concerts at Christchureh in the Theatre Royal on Tuesday and Wednesday next. At the Court of. our King George he has played since the war, and also, at the Courts of Spain !and Roumania. Friedman has close p&sonal memories, of three other on«.-power-ful rulers who have been swept into the abyss by the destiny of war, or revotation.
