The New Zealand Dairy Produce Board has received the following market report from the London Agency, dated July 15th, prices for the previous week being mentioned in parentheses:— BUTTER. New Zealand salted 158s to 160s (160s to 1625), exceptional 1625, unsalted 160s to 164s (165s to 170s). The market is quiet. Australian finest salted 158s to 160s (158s to 1625), unsalted 160s to 164s (162s to 1645). Argentine finest unsalted 160s to 164s (160s to 1645). Irish creamery salted 148s to 150s (152s to 1545), unsalted 152s to 160s (156s to 158s). Dutch unsalted 154s to 158s (156s to 160s). Latvian 146s to 152s (144s to 1525). Esthonian 146s to 164s (146s to 1525). Lithuanian 144s to 146s (144s to 1465). Siberian 140s to 144s (142s to 1465). Danish 160s to 162s (160s to 1625). Irish and Continental butters are slow of sale. Retail New Zealand and Danish is Is 7d. There are many instances in the north of Danish retailing at Is 6d. The total butter imports of England for June established a record, namely 34.000 tons, an increase mostly of Danish, Dutch, and Irish. Consumption, however, is very good, fully 6000 tons weekly. The constant wet weather which has prevailed for some time has been an important factor in the high production of Danish. Imports are still large, but are showing signs of a decrease. We consider that consumption • with the fall- I ing imports will ultimately raise the market, but in the meantime the abnormal pro- ( duction will defer a rise and will prob- I ably lower the ultimate peak point.

CHEESE. New Zealand white and coloured 87s to 88s (84s to 86s and 85s to 8,6s respectively). The market is steady. Australian coloured 82s to 84s (83s to 84s). Canadian old season white 106s to 108s (102s to 104s), coloured 96s to 100s (100s). Canadian new season is now quoting 84s ci.i. There still is little business passing. English finest farmers 106s to 112s (100s to 106s). Retail prices are unchanged. CANADIAN MARKET. The Board has also received the following advice from its agents in Canada: — Butter—New York 42 cents (Is 9d), Montreal 34) cents (Is 5Jd), 'Frisco 41 cents (is 81d). Butter stocks in the United States this year are ninety million lbs, and in Canada 13} million lbs. Cheese—Montreal 18* ceata. <9l4>«
