GUN CLUBS.
MOUNT HERBERT. The Mt. Herbert Gun Club members held their opening shoot for the 1927 season under wintry conditions. There was a fair attendance of shooters and spectators, and, considering the strong wind which was blowine during tho afternoon, some excellent scores were made. Gray (14yds) •• 010111112 —7 W. Dean (14yds) •• 001111120—6 H. Blackler (15yds) .- 111000022 —5 The trophy match drew fifteen competitors and as Wcthey Gebbie and E. Hammond tied, they decided to toss for the trophy, Wcthey Gebbie winning the toss. Four first-miss-out events were shot, and the winners were:—No. 1: R. Anderson, E. Hammond, and E. Gray, divided. Xo. 2: Won bv Wethey Gebbie. No. 3: Won by W. D. Gebbie. No. 4: Won by H. Grennell. A special trophy given by_ Messrs Hammond and Turner for shooters insido the thirteen yard mark was tied for by W. D. Gebbie and E. Radeliffe. As the light was very bad, they decided to shoot this off at the next club shoot. At the conclusion of the shooting SI? W. Whitford called for three cheers for the Tcddington ladies, who supplied an excellent afternoon tea.
