Dtmean and Apperley had a battle nraL The New Zealander went out in «j j, n t took three putts on the tenth Jgen, and from thence onward his putto* was weak. Apperley won the u(th eleventh, and sixteenth, but Dunjuj jqnared the match at the sevenjMßth* only to lose the eighteenth, j. jjj afternoon Duncan won the first, Ist lost the third and fourth. He was tiro down at the ninth and though he *OB the tenth Apperley had the upper jind, and won 3 up and two. Horton played against Thorn and won til third, but Thorn squared the match A {he fifth. Horton then won the sixth, livwth, eighth, and ninth, and mainlining his form was five up at the ttMlnsion of the morning round. In tie afternoon he sparkled out in 36, gjd eventually won 9up and eight. Ho Iteto Busiell, of Victoria, to-morrow. ' WWttOB played fine golf against Mac'taint, and the New Zealander was gfCn down at the conclusion of the lowing round, and gave up the match.
