They should keep asking Sv a loaf of bread cost, more in New Zealand than possibly any other counf/v i t!e world. At the moment bread in Britain is about 9*d for a large loaf, against Is 2d delivered here Tbl farmer has no chance in the world of the town dweller ni New Zealand making it possible for the loaf to be Sore than at present paid. The_ price already is excessive, very excessive. Can vou, Mr Editor, explain why flour can be sold so cheaply in Australia, and cost so much more in New Zealand, and do you know of any other foodstuff which shows so much difference in wice? The flourmillers occupy a box seat, and the price they charge for their service needs some explanation. H is one of those tilings in which the town and country tolk should stand together and demand a lair deal-a fair deal to the farmer and a fair deal to the public—Yours, etc.. ■ FARMER'S-vSOX.
