Municipal Election. Mr F. E. Sutton, the present Mayor of Lyttelton, was nominated yesterday for the Mayoralty, being the first nomination for the local election. All .nominations will close at noon on Thursday, the 14th inst. Personal. Sister E. M. Gooding, who has been _sn charge of the Casualty Ward and Maternity Ward for some years, left last evening for six months* holiday in England. She sails from Wellington by the Tamaroa on Saturday. Basketball. A basketball match between teams representing the Lyttelton District High School and the -West Lyttelton School was played at the West Lyttelton ground yesterday, and resulted in a win for the Bay by 12 goals toll. ' ■ ■ Postal Boxes. Workmen yesterday demolished that large concrete pillar-boxe3 at the corner oi Oxford and London streets, and at the corner of Canterbury and London streets. These cumbersome structures have been replaced with ordinary wall postal-boxes. The new box ot the corner of .Oxford-and London streets is now at McDonald's corner, instead of outsido the Council Offices.
