A deadlock has been reached in connexion with the Clyde engineering strike, the management refusing the Shop Committee's request for a conference, stating that they ha no quarrel with the men, but refused to treat with the Committee when no disPU Meanwhfle', the men are losi^ d a day in wages. It is expected that the men will now endeavour to secure the intervention of the Trades Labour Council.
