MACKENZIE DOG TRIALS
SUCCESSFUL MEETING. The old-established McKeniie Club ran off Us thirty-seventh- annual contest last week, ut'der somewhat trying conditions on the first of tlie tjjree days. Very satisfactory nominations were received., and good work was the general rule. Operations were carried out in a very efficient manner, as was the judging of Mr M. L. Elliot. As secretary, Mr J. Mcßae, of Wijimate, carried out his duties most efficiently. Competition from outside was not as strong as on v ® rl * ous other occasions, nevertheless, A. Aubrev, 1). Davis, and J. Snlillie (»»i----mate) and W.'B. Hope and A. Allan well represented the other districts, while the Albury Club was very capably and sucessfully represented by quite a strong contingent, who secured a full share of the coated honours. Merino sheep, strong Grampian Station wethers were used throughout, nn.. filled the bill admirably. Following arc the results: — . Class 1., Open Long I'uU; 38 entries. Maximum points 40. Mr C. A. Parker'? (Burke's Pass) George, Mr C.' A. Parker's (Burke's Pass) Don Mr W. Don's (Burke's Pass) Gyp, 34 .. Mr Geo. Keeffe's (Kimbell) Tui, 33 .. i Tha district maiden prizes went to Parker's Don 1, and Don's Gyp 2. Class 11., Open Hw.taway and Slew; 40pts. Mr A. Aubrev's (AVaimate) Tweed, 36pts 1 Mr C. A. Parker's (Burke's Pais), Hi?B, Mr W. B. Hope's (Mt. Possession), Dodger, 33 . . . • " j Mr R. B. Smyth's (Albtjry) Rock, 30 .. 4 The best maidens were F. Creighton s Star and vr. K. McConnell's Scamp. This event produced more blants than the rest of the event?, » high wind prevailing a good part of the day no doubt being accountable. .... Claw 111.. Open, phort Pull, Drive, and \ard; 43 entries.' Total points 40. This event provided the most consistent running of the meeting. Results: Jfr Kaeffe's (Burke's Pass) Tui, 34pts 1 Mr Snath's (Albury) Garrie, 33 .. 2 Jfr Davey's (Albury) Fame, 31 •• •" Mr Friicr's (Albury) Lilico, 30 . . 4 Maiden positions were filled by A. Sqiith s Bouncer and C. Leys's Coy respectively. Class IV.—rOpen, H?ad, Pull, Hold, and Huniipyay. Nineteen entries. Mr Smyth's Kock .. . • '' Mr Aubrey's Taud .. •• .. " Mr Frasor's Punch . . ■ • . . 3 Maiden successes—Mr Home's Tsddy and Mr Smyth's Koyal tied. The club's Challenge Shield was anuexed by Star, a truly typical all-rounder, Mr A, Aubrey won the Returned Soldiers' Shield for best aggregate by n returned soldier. Mr Geo. Keen? won the district grand aggregate prize.
