SHIPPING NOTES. The steam yacht Surprise is expected this afternoon from Akaroa. The Breeze is due this morning from Timaru, and is to Bail this afternoon for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Gale arrived last evening from Wanganui, and is to sail to-day for Dunedin and Timarn. The Storm is now to sail to-day with cargo for Dunedin and Timaru. The Waipiata was an arrival at Lyttelton yesterday from Auckland and Wellington. She is to sail to day for Timaru, Dunedin, and Oamaru. . ' . The Wingatui arrived at midday yesterday from Oamaru. She is loading for Auckland, and is to sail to-morrow, via Picton and Wellington. . , _ The Kairanga should arrive to-morrow from Sydnev. She is to sail on Monday for Timaru, Dunedin, Oamaru. and Bluff. The Orepuki is an expected tomorrow. She brings cement from Tarakohe. and, on completion of discharge, will load for Wellington, Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. _ The John, due on Sunday from Wanganui, loads on Monday for Picton, Dargaville, and Hokianga. . , The,Holmdale is due on Sunday from Dunedin and Timaru. She is to sail on Monday _ afternoon for Wellington and Progress is expected on Tuesday from the south to load for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. The Kahunui, the Wanganui Harbour Board's new Kig, is reported to have sailed from Sourabaya on Saturday last in continuation of her voyage from England to Xe Canadian Prospector, from Halifax, is j nß a t Wellington from Auckland to-day to rnntinu'e discharge of her Canadian cargo. She will later proceed to Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin to complete.

The Mahia arrived at Auckland at 10 o'clock on Tuesday night from Antwerp, and .will complete discharge at that port. She will-later proceed to Opua, Gisborne, Lyt-telton,-papier, and Wellington to load, and is due at Wellington on April 10th. She is to sail on April 14th for London, via Rio de Janeiro. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that it is expected that the Ruapchu, from Southampton, will reach Wellington about 5 p.m. on Monday. The Rotorua, which arrived at Southampton on Friday, March 4tb, made the passage from New Zealand in the smart time of 34 days, having left Wellington on January 20th.
