CITIZENS' ASSOCIATION'S CANDIDATES FILL TICKETS NOMINATED. Candidates for (ho City Council and other local bodies were selected last evening by the Christchurch Citizens' Association. Sim. * In its selection of candidates for the Council, Hospital Board, and Harbour Board, the Association has been fuccessful in inducing a number of younger men. new to public life, to offer their services to the City. With the sitting members it in felt that » strong team has been chosen in the case of each of the local bodies. In selecting some members of the Port and City Committee asQcnndidntes for the Harbour Board, the Citizens' Association does not necessarily endorse the \ iews of that committee, but it considers that ft thorough examination should bo made as to whether the Port and access thereto are in keeping with the present and future needs of the North Canterbury district. Mr C. T. Aschman, one of the sitting representatives of the Association on the City Council, is not seeking re-elec-tion, while Mr A. D. Ford, it is understood, will stand again, but his name did not appear among the list of candidates handed to The Press last evening. The final selection of candidates for the North Canterbury Hospital Board has not yet been made. The candidates for the Harbour Board are as follow: Messrs H. M, Chrystall, J. R. Hayward, H. Holland, M.P., and A. L. Macfarlone.
