PERSONAL. (special to rat tßtst.) GREYMOUTII, February 2. At St. Patrick's Church this morning the wedding was solemnised of Mr Maurice Doolan, of Totara Flat, soil ot the late Mr anil Mrs James Doolan, lormerly of Totara Flat, to Miss Annie Cecilia, third daughter of Mr and Mrs David Ividd, of Atarau. >*uptial Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Father O'Meighan, of Ahaura. The bride, who wore a frock of blue silk repp relieved with white, was attended by her sister, Miss Maggie Kidd, who wore biscuit inarocaiii. Mr L'lilf O'Leary, cousin ot tlie bridegroom, was best man. The Weather. Although tho weather has moderated considerably the overhead conditions are still sullen and heavy showers fell during the day. Up to 1' o'clock this morning a total of 57 points of rain fell at Grcymouth for the -4 hours. Owing to the wash-out near Mnwheraiti the train connecting with the Christchurch express was two hours late in arriving at Reefton last evening. Motor-cars | with passengers reached WVstport just j oil midnight, the trip from L'hristchurch to Westport occupying fifteen hours instead of tho customary twelve. AS tho result of tho interruption ol I the train traffic between Grcymouth and | Jtecfton yesterday morning, ten trucks of sheep and lambs for tho Addington Kaleyards from the Murchisou district uiissed this iveek'a market. Following yesterday's torrential downpour all the damage to tho railway lines lias been repaired, and all train services aro running to schedulo to-day. Several farms wero submerged through the Little Grey River overflowing its banks, but no serious damage occurred. The protective works in tho course of construction at Littlo Grey stood the strain well, and n good clearance was made in tho river channel. Tho flooded state of tho Grev river caused a quantity of silt to obstruct tho suction pipes at tho Dobson powerhouso last night, and it was feared that the obstruction would interfere with the electric supply. A clearanco was effected this morning, and the generating plant is now working satisfactorily. Iso further flood damage is reported. Dobson Mine. In connexion with tho Dobson Mine disaster, Mr J. Smeaton, president of the Grey Valley Miners' Union, wired to the Minister for Mines as follows: "If the company will provide tho plant and power and tho Stato Mines Department will assist, the Dobson Miners' Union will undorlako tho unwatering of Dobson Mine *o recover the bodies of the men entombed, for the sum of £3OOO, and willjs'nrt pumping within one week after authority is given." Bushman Injured. A buslnnan named Frank Dudley, while sawing a trco at Moonlight, met with a painful accident. The tree split and while moving to get elenr of a portion which was falling, he canjo in contact with tho teeth of a saw, inflicting a sevcro cut across tho knee, seriously damaging tho kneecap, lie had to ride ten miles to the Ahaura railway station, and entered tho Grey Hospital for treatment, where ho is reported to be doing satisfactorily.
