TRAFFIC TALLIES.

NORTH AND MARSHLAND ROADS. A tally ot traffic will be taken this week by the Wainiairi County Council on two of its main highways, the North road and the Marshland road. The tallv will commence at 8 a.in. to-day and will continue lor 24 hours a day for seven days. The points at which tho tally will be taken uro the Styx bridge on tho North road, the Styx bridge on tho Marshland road, and corner of North and \\ aimakariri roads. Fifteen special traffic tallv officers have been employed. The drivers of all vehicles and stock will be required to name the district from which they started and the district of their destination. Drivers of vehicles will greatly assist the officers in their work by giving the information promptly. So inconvenienco will be caused to traffic, as it will be licccssary merely to slow down and call the information to the tally officer. The tallv officers have been instructed to take the number of any motor whose driver fails to givo the information desired. "
