GUN CLUBS.

TRAP-SHOOTING. On Saturday afternoon teams from the Christchurch and Lyttelton Gun Clubs went acrots the harbour to Purau to competo in a teams' match with the Purau Gun Club. Condition* called for eight men from each club to shoot at tan clay pigeons from 10 yards' rise. Tho weather was beautiful, but tho very bright light and tho fact that the clays were thrown towards a hill, showing no skyline, made the shooting very difficult. (church Lyttelton team* shot at one bird. The first round was a tie, the second round pate the name result, and in the third round Christchurch broke seven, while Lyttelton broke four giving a win to the former ciub with a margin of three. Twedtv one started in a first-miM-out sweep, and the prise-money was divided after the leventh round by H. Grenne.. A. N. Turner. H. Blackler. and H. M. Wright. Mr M. Dean pave every satisfaction as referee, and the Misses Gardiner and Miss Jackson entertained all the shooters to afternoon tea.
