TOUR OF ENGLISH TEAM PROBABLE.

AUCKLAND, January 27
Mr G. W. Bagrie, of Auckland, who is a Soccer enthusiast, and has just returned from a trip Home, is hopeful that in the near future a team representing the English and Scottish Football Associations may be sent out to tho Dominion. It is too early yefc to indicate whether the tour will take place during next winter or the succeeding season, but the ground work has been done, and Auckland Soccer devotees will eventually see a team in action which represents the code at its best at Home. During the course of his tour Mr Bagrie met Mr F. J. Wall, secretary of the English Football Association, and Mr J. K. McDowall, secretary of the Scottish Football Association, and both of them expressed their desire to help m sending out a team to New Zealand. / " . j Mr Bagrie was much impressed by tho public appreciation • which firstclass, football commands at Horiie. There were 73,000 spectators, he said, .for. the Scottish Cup final between Glasgow Rangers and Celtic (the leading Edinburgh team); and he was also present at. an ordinary First League match in England between the Arsenal and Liverpool, which drew a gate, of 35.000. . Prices ranged from Is to 7s 6d for a League match at Home, and it was 6cldom that standing accommodation is not filled and tho seating of the stands taxed to the uttermost.
